A fun pre-school class exploring your little one's first steps into ballet and dance. Spin, leap, twirl and play with colourful scarves and ribbons.

A fun introductory class for school-age little ones exploring their first steps into ballet, modern and tap dance – now in a little more detail, preparing them to join our junior school classes.

We offer a wide range of classes for mini and junior dancers. Our ballet and tap classes use the ISTD dance syllabus and pupils will take their dance exams.
Our free syllabus modern classes teach dancers the basic skills for a whole range of styles such as lyrical, jazz and contemporary.
Acro classes teach young dancers some basic acrobatic skills such as handstands, bridges, cartwheels and help train strength and flexibility.

Our junior troupe team learn routines
to perform at dance festivals and competitions and this class is invite
or audition only.

Year 5 to Year 7
(Age 9–12)

At this age dancers are able to start joining a wide variety of classes at Brooks Dance Academy. A typical dancer may start with Ballet, Tap, Modern and Acro.
Dancers may start taking ISTD
exams (the higher grades gain
dancers additional UCAS points).
Dancers may then eventually add Contemporary or PBT and be invited to join our Under 10s Troupe team who perform and compete locally at dance competitions and events.
Dancers may then be invited to learn a solo, duet or trio to perform once they have gained experience in group performances.

At this age dancers are able to train across a comprehensive timetable of classes at Brooks Dance Academy.
A typical dancer may now take weekly classes across all styles such as
Ballet, Modern, Tap, PBT,
Acro and Street.
Some dancers may now have started to go on pointe for the first time, or may have joined commercial/street classes.
Alongside this, dancers may choose to now be part of our performing troupe team as well as a member of our higher level performing company Brooks Dance Company who take part in additional advanced level events,
competitions and shows, rehearsing at weekends (usually Sundays).
